| Sugar was very special to lots of people in her 32 years. She taught lots of young kids how to ride and rope, myself included. I was lucky enough to call her my own for many years, and we had lots of fun learning a new sport together; team penning, which she absolutely loved, and we spent many wonderful days exploring trails and creeks and the Kentucky countryside. She was my dream horse and the one I will compare all ohters to. When she became too old to carry the weight of an adult, but still had so much spark left, I found her a new job; she became a therapy horse for disabled children. She taught them how to ride just as she had done with me so many years before. She did this for 5 years before she was retired. She spent her last few years enjoying the grass under her feet and the sun on her back. |
